2019 Fall FundraiserCrosstraining Fitness of Vail and Vail Brewing Company are doing more than just improving fitness and brewing up incredible beer, they are teaming up to bring the community together and rally around the Mills’ family. The youngest member of the Mills’ family:
5-year-old Noah Mills, was recently diagnosed with late-stage bilateral renal (kidney) cancer, called Wilms Tumor. The main goal of this event is to raise funds for Mills’ family as they take on the fight of their lives. On Saturday, October 26, 2019, supporters from all over the Vail Valley will gather at Eagle-Vail‘s Crosstraining Gym and Brewery starting at 11:00 am to compete in a team-style competition and enjoy locally crafted brews. Noah and his family have begun chemotherapy treatments in Denver, which will continue for several months. They have successfully completed the first of many surgeries. Noah will be attending school as much as possible throughout his treatment. His parents, Jason and Shannon, share that Noah has been brave and courageous thus far and that Noah’s strong heart, spirit, and tenacity shine bright. As it is highly probable that Jason and Shannon will encounter unforeseen expenses during their family's fight with cancer, 100% of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly to their family. SO, WHY A WORKOUT, BARBELLS AND TEAMS?? The Barbell represents a commitment to health and wellness. It’s a lifestyle. It’s loud. It’s disruptive. It’s a movement. Our gym community represents health and wellness, which go hand-in-hand. Health encompasses nutrition and exercise, the only proven way to reduce the risk of cancer. Wellness means advocating for yourself by taking action because no one is immune to chronic disease. The Barbell also represents a weight being lifted. It represents peace-of-mind.The team aspect represents that we all need to lean on others from time to time and depicts how important a strong community is We believe that we can affect long-term social change. We’re about action, we’re about being proactive, and we’re about raising the bar. Together with one unified voice, we can make a difference. |
Our Local EventSupporters will travel from all over the Vail Valley to join in on a fun day of workouts, great local brews, BBQ, and family fun.
You can join in on the workout or simply cheer others on. There will be fun fitness competitions going on throughout the day. Is it a Competition or a Party? It’s both! Most will join in on the workout, all will party. The grill will be HOT and ready to throw your food on whenever your tummy desires. (BYO protein and a side to share!) There will be coolers full of ice to keep your adult beverages COLD. And of course, Vail Brewing Co will have delicious BREWS on tap. |
How you can get involved
How does the competition work?
Most will be dressed in silly orange. (Not required, it’s just fun.) There will be judges to ensure correct counting and consistent reps. There will be prizes for the top athletes. The workouts are entirely scalable/modifiable. So, EVERYONE can participate! |
